Standing on the street I saw a light,
Stranded road, no one in sight…
I walked along to the ray of hope,
Chilly winds, struggling to cope!

With enormous effort I reached the end,
un-scared un-tired I pretend…
The folks around the fire - offered me tea,
Unknown people, such warmth and chivalry!

Touched with the gesture – lost in thought,
I wondered what is the last thing I bought…
Not for me but for someone I know,
Out of gratitude and not for show!

We sometimes feel but don’t express,
Ashamed whether this might look less…
If you really call one a true friend,
then why do we live - as to pretend?

There is always a start its never too late,
Here is to all with whom I shared a plate…
Apologize for not expressing in the past,
Thank you all ! Have a blast!

Another day, another year,
Shed the old, a new beginning is here..
Sorrows to forget, Joys to hold,
Let go of the past – there are new things to unfold!
