Poverty !

I’m walking down the street,
I see people with bare feet…
Beds without a bedsheet,
Absolutely nothing to eat…

I stopped by - 4 alms to give,
Wondering how they live…
Even though they are Naïve,
They work hard to strive…

Laborer’s job it may seem,
Earning bit by bit to redeem…
Living for the day – food their dream,
Brothers and sisters working as a team !

I sometimes wonder the rich man’s pride,
spending millions on a screwed up ride…
I’ll drink and drive – why should I hide,
I’ve got contacts – to rules why to abide…

The rich should learn from the poor they see,
Rather than treat them untouchably !
Hearts to kind, minds so free,
Is that what we call – poverty?? 

Just A dream...

I’m sitting in a corner,
thinking what to do…
Confronted as a foreigner,
In a land owned by you..

What wrong have I done,
I begin to wonder…
Is the battle won,
Or do I have to surrender?

What made me land up in this place,
I can see only eagles and vultures…
It feels as if it’s a giant deface,
Cannibalization being its culture…

How I wish I was never here,
bloodshed all around me…
Haunted grounds: a feeling of eerie,
Why does it have to be?

Sounds and noises of crackling trees,
I feel the chill of the wind…
Chirps of birds, hums of bees,
stay focused, I’m brave I pretend…

Someone puts a hand on me,
My heart skips a beat…
I gather courage to turn and see,
Still shivering in my seat…

Senses driven by the mind,
Ages it did seem…
Greeted by a gesture so kind,
Wake up! It’s just a dream!

Unanswered Questions

I sit and wonder how countries emerged,
How did these invisible boundaries surge..
Who gave men the right to claim,
Putting God’s own view of a united world to shame…

How is it that visa’s are denied to some,
And still they have the audacity to write ‘welcome’ !
They need bank statements to check whether you can sustain,
Oh – he’s gonna go to your country and beg his living – you think people are Insane?

Who defined what’s right and wrong,
Is it people with influence all along?
Pay your taxes for a better living,
Potholes, inflation, in return where is the giving?

How to complicate these simple facts?
Divert the people to something that attracts…
In the rat race chaos who wants tensions,
Is ignorance bliss to these unanswered questions?
